Cycling in The Lakes

If you are looking for some ideas for cycling holidays in The Lake District, there are some fantastic cycling routes near the hall and possibly the best route is right here on our doorstep. A new mountain bike trail for Grizedale Forest has been built thanks to sponsorship from The North Face and Rural Regeneration Cumbria.

Starting at the Grizedale Visitor Centre the new North Face Mountain Bike Cycling Trail is a 10 mile track consisting of 9 new sections of sinuous single track trail on the west side of the forest.

The cycling trail offers sections of single track descent that get the adrenalin pumping and some testing uphill sections, all contouring through oak woodlands and conifer forest. This challenging trail also gives the mountain biker tricky boardwalk sections through meadows yet rewards the trail rider with outstanding views along the way.
